When I got everything down from the attic, I intended to do a
Red, Silver and Gold mantle. But once I laid it all out, I changed my mind. And afterI decorated my mantle, I redecorated my mantle. When it was all said and done-- I went with Silver and Gold. It just felt right :)
I didn't buy anything new for the mantle, just moved around things I already had. Some of the items were other places in my home, some of the items were from
"Christmas Past".
The burlap stockings were a
DIY project from a few years ago. I used an old stocking to make a pattern for 'sock'. Then I ruffled muslin for the top. The monograms were done by hot gluing buttons to the stocking.
The gold sparkly candles are those flameless, battery operated ones. And they look surprisingly beautiful at night.
My wreath is an old green one that I spray painted gold. Then I hot glued silver ornaments to the leaves.
How is your Christmas decorating coming along?
Were you like me-- decorating and re-decorating? Or did you stick to tradition?

I should probably be more decisive. But decorating (and re-decorating) is part of the fun! |
I am still adding a few things to my tree. So that will be in separate post next week. And how do you like the new "Be Good For Goodness Sake" sign? I am sharing the steps I used to create it on Monday as part of the "All Things Home" Christmas Craft Tour. 3 days, 15 blogs-- all Christmas Crafts. You won't want to miss it.
