Oh Christmas Tree {Link-Up}

I love seeing other people's Christmas trees. It's fun to look at their ornaments and peek at the wrapped presents. Popping in on neighbors (with some home made treats or a bottle of wine) is the best during this time of year. You get to wish them Merry Christmas and have a chance to see their home, all warm and cozy. I think you can tell a lot about a person-- just by looking at their tree :)

Our tree is 'artificial' and filled with colored lights. I love real trees, but a few years ago I had a series of trees tip over. It almost did me in. So we just bought this guy. I miss the smell of a real tree, but for now, this is our tree. Since the lights are so colorful, I added a lot of neutrals- like silver/white deco mesh, burlap, and gold ribbon. I plumped up our tree with sprigs of evergreen, silver balls, and gold dusted leaves. Basically, I just like to stuff my tree with as many things as possible. It is kind of messy/eclectic.

The ornaments are like the frosting on the cake. Most of mine tell a story. This purple angel was made by Maisy in Sunday School. She doesn't really like to color, so the fact that she colored this entire angel makes it super special to me.

My 'tree skirt' is simply several yards of burlap wrapped around the stand. It makes my tree feel more 'nestled'. And do you spy my presents? I love all those fancy wrapped packages on Pinterest. But I usually end up with simple wrapping paper and the traditional 'bag o bows' that have the sticky square on the back.

My favorite thing about the Christmas tree is the glow. I love to turn it on when I get up early with Afton for school. Before the house 'comes alive' and the sun rises, this tree warms the family room.

And at night, when Jeff and I watch tv-- I turn off all the lights in the house. The tree makes the sweetest glow. It is such a treat, because it only comes once a year.

What does your Christmas tree look like? I want to see it!

>>>Link up your Christmas Tree below. It doesn't have to be fancy or perfect-- this is not a 'decorator tree only' kind of link up.  You don't even to link back or anything. It's just a chance to share your tree... because you can tell a lot about a person by their tree!

>>>Or share you tree on Instagram! Just use the hashtag #seeyourtree when you post a photo of your Christmas tree on Instagram.

I can't wait to see your trees!
