The Lil' Chevron Chair {Cherish the Children}

I am in love with this little chair. It is bubblegum pink with black&white chevron.
Girly, playful and fun.

I made the chair to support Dallas CASA- an organization that is near and dear to my heart. The chair will be among the collection of chairs auctioned to at the annual "Cherish the Children" luncheon Wednesday, May 15 at the Ritz-Carlton, Dallas. The event will benefit Dallas CASA, by raising funds to recruit and support volunteer advocates who help abused children find safe, permanent and loving homes. (And yes-- tickets to the Luncheon are still available for purchase! Click here to get yours!

Over the past few years, the highlight of the Luncheon has been the auction of the chairs. Local artists donate their time and talents to create whimsical creations from the simple wooden seats. I am so honored to be the first blogger invited to participate in the "Cherish the Children" chair decoration.

Here are few photos of my favorite chairs that were created by local artists last year. I am blown away by their creativity and talent.

The best part of all this beauty-- is that it benefits an amazing organization.

Dallas CASA is a nonprofit organization of community volunteers who serve as voices in court
for abused and neglected children. CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates.
CASA volunteers are trained and supervised to advocate for the best interests of children in
protective care and to make recommendations that help judges decide what is best for each
child.
When kids can’t speak for themselves, CASA can. For many children, a CASA volunteer is the one constant during a frightening, uncertain time. A CASA volunteer can have an immediate and critical impact on the life of a child. Less than half of the children in protective care in Dallas County have CASA voices in court. More volunteers are needed to make a critical impact on the lives of abused children who need help and hope.

  1. The chair is totally adorable! You did a great job on it. Thanks for sharing the information and the other photos. I did not know about this program. Breaks my heart that children even need advocates...but thank God they are there.
