I decorated for Easter today! My kids LOVE when I decorate for the holidays. I do it when they are at school and they get SO excited to come home and 'notice that something is different'. (I am guessing it's similar to the feeling I get when Target puts out new stuff. Pure joy!) This year I used a few of our usual Easter decorations and then added a few new things too. Come see the photos- I will take you on a 'mini house tour' that just might inspire you to decorate for Easter too.
It was so dreary here today, warm-- but very gray outside. It felt good to add some bright flowers to my dining room table. I like pastels for Easter, but to keep the whole thing feeling modern- I added lots of pieces that match my home decor. Metallics, black and white, glass etc.
This black and white runner is from Oriental Trading- I love it because it can literally work with any season or color scheme. When Easter is over, I will keep it out and just switch up my centerpiece.
And what's Easter without a bunny? I got mine here. I think his flopped over ear is adorable.
I found these golden eggs here. Right now, they are empty. But for our Easter egg hunt, I will fill them with something extra special.
The flowers are silk, from Hobby Lobby. I have a whole stash of these. I used them for my youngest daughter's tea party last year.
I added a little Easter to my mantle too. A bunny on the left.
And a bunny on the right.
And when I tried to photograph them together-- I kept ending up in the photo! So there you go.
In our sitting room (which was originally a breakfast nook) I set out these Easter trees and a few eggs.
And that's it. Sweet and simple Easter decorations with a modern feel. How do you decorate your home for Easter?
