Sitting Room Makeover (Transitional Style)

Our sitting area has gotten a make-over over the past month. (You can read about it here.) In my recent search for chairs, I found out that my home decor style is now considered "transitional". Not traditional, not modern. But somewhere in the middle. Which describes most things about me. So with that said, here is a peek at some of the decor changes I have made recently.

I am so happy with these bobbin chairs. I originally wanted white -- but how can a person really live with white furniture?! This charcoal fabric is even better than I imagined and the chairs are roomy, comfortable and well made. (Chair source here.)

The table by the chairs is a fabulous Target find. Nate Berkus-- you are my kind of guy. I love the simply designed legs paired with marble. (Table source here.)

The flowers are a sweet treat from my friends at ProFlowers. I think they would make the perfect hostess gift- when you place your order, have them arrive to "the hostess with the mostess" on the day of the day of the party. Everyone loves fresh flowers.

I added lamps and accessories from HomeGoods.

The accent stools under the table are from Target (surprise!) and they are honestly the most solid, nicest thing I have ever bought from that store. They can be pulled out and used as footstools with the bobbin chairs. Or they can be used for additional seating. Or if you have little kids-- well you can probably guess-- they love sitting on these 'tiny chairs'. Kids!! (Accent stool source here).

I think the new decor does justice to my beautiful painting. (Painting source here) To me, the room feels elegant but still comfy.

Do you have a word to describe your decor style?

PS- Just thought you might want to know... if you are ordering from ProFlowers this holiday season, save by using the coupons codes found here.
