Easy Christmas Crafts: DIY Reindeer Candy Canes & Present Costume

Like everyone else, we are trying to pack in as much Christmas fun as possible this month. We have written letters to Santa, decorated the house, seen Christmas lights, and made a few crafts too. My favorites so far are these Reindeer Candy Canes and the Present Costume.

The Reindeer Candy Canes are pretty easy. All you need to make them are:
-Candy Canes
-Brown Pipe Cleaners
-Googly Eyes
-Red pom pom

I twisted on one pipe cleaner per candy cane. Then I used hot glue to attach the eyes and nose. The eyes are tiny-- so they took some 'fine motor skills'. I managed to escape without any hot glue burns :)

I loaded up 21 candy canes for each of their classes in a mason jar and sent them to school. I think they will be a fun treat!

Next is the Present Costume. Afton's cheer gym had a 'holiday dress up' practice. So we cut a head hole, and two arm holes in a box. Then I wrapped it with some paper and added ribbon and tag. I bobby pinned the bow to her head. She wore it to warm up in, but had to take it off for tumbling and stunting :) I think am going to use it in the 'photo booth' at the school Christmas party.

What have you been crafting this month?
