Washi Tape Crafts

Recently, I was sent the new Washi Tape Crafts: 110 Way to Decorate Just About Anything by Amy Anderson to review. My daughters and I played around with the book - it includes not only ideas, but 10 rolls of tape too! Looking at the book, I kept thinking, "Where was washi tape when I was kid?!". It is such a simple way to craft without making a mess. And it can be done by almost anyone.

We liked the layout of the book and the bright, beautiful photos. It was kind of like holding Pinterest in your hands :) The book has step-by-step instructions and is packed full of 110 projects that include everything from gifts to home decor to jewelry to holidays and celebrations. My girls were excited that it came with rolls of custom-designed washi tape.

Besides projects, the book also teaches techniques: like precision tearing, wrapping, and weaving, and how to make bows, rosettes, and other shapes. You can use the techniques to create a project featured in the book or to improvise your own projects. I liked that it included steps to seal and weatherproof designs to make them more permanent. And that you can use items you already own- and make them 'more fabulous' with the rolls of tape included in the book.

Some of our favorite projects shown in the book are: adding washi tape to sunglasses, using to it dress up your keyboards, and creating faux wallpaper.

The Washi Tape Crafts book would make a fun gift for kids, teens, and adults. There’s pretty much a washi tape project for everyone and everything. All you have to do is peel, stick, and create!

Thinking this book might be my 'go to' Christmas gift for the crafty teachers at our school!
