3 Ways to Update Your Bedroom for Fall

When the seasons change from summer to fall, I always get the itch to make my home feel a bit more cozy. In the family room, I added several pumpkins and a little burlap bunting. So my next project was to make our master bedroom feel a little more like fall.

Here is where we started! I loved my 'before' but I needed a little more 'coziness' for fall. My plan was to shop my house and add a few items to make an easy update.

BEFORE

First, I moved my tufted bench from our closet to the foot of the bed. I added a cozy blanket and textured pillows.  The nubby cable-knit blanket is the perfect extra layer for staying warm at night. And the pillows soften the bench and add more texture to the room.

Next (and my favorite part) I added this beautiful bound carpet from Mohawk. It is called "Mill View" in Skylark. The carpet is part of the SmartStrand Forever Clean Carpet. Aka- the toughtest, easiest to clean carpet on the planet.

The carpet has Nanoloc spill protection for quick and easy spill cleanup. It is the only carpet with built-in stain and soil resistance that never washes off. We are needing new carpet upstairs soon- and this is what I am hoping to put up there. An easy-to-clean carpet that is stain resistant will be perfect my girls' bedrooms and the game room.

Third, I added some greenery on our bed side tables. I think a something 'green' makes a room feel more cozy don't you?

I loved waking up the first morning after our 'bedroom update'. It was so nice to have my feet land on soft carpet instead of a cold wood floor!
