Simple Fall Decor + DIY Polka Dot Burlap Bunting

The first official day of Fall arrived and as much as I was trying to resist--- I broke down and bought some pumpkins. (Target!!) I have a few Halloween decorations in the attic that I will bring down once the calendar flips to October. But until then- this is me getting 'festive'.

The bunting is a DIY project that took about 10 minutes.

It comes pre-made with those nice little grommet holes and everything. I found it at Target in the Dollar Spot- for $3. Then I brought it home and used a round sponge paint brush and gold paint to make those polka dots. And then... I sprinkled really fine gold glitter on the paint while it was still wet. When it dried, I shook off the excess glitter and it was ready to hang up.

That real pumpkin almost looks fake don't you think? It is the perfect shade of orange!

I bought a bag of those mini-pumpkins too. They are 'unreal' looking as well. My girls kept picking them up and asking 'Are you sure these are reeeeaaaaal?'. Yes- I am sure.

I also surprised my girls with some fun 'First Day of Fall' treats. Move over--- Martha Stewart, I've got pre-made cookies coming out of my oven!

Decorating for the holidays always makes my girls so happy. And if happiness is as easy as a few real mini-pumpkins and some Pillsbury cookies, then count me in!
