Free Monogram Binder Covers

School starts in one week! We are busy running around this week getting all those 'last minute' details taken care of. All those little things that make for a great start to the year :) A few new outfits, new shoes, and school supplies. My girls both had 'one inch white binders' on their school supply lists.
And as much as I love things that are 'simply white'- we felt like these binders needed to be jazzed up a bit.

A quick Pinterest search led us to my new favorite site, "Chicfetti Monograms". And friends, let me just say, this site is like the holy grail of monograms. My girls and I scrolled through pages and pages of the cutest monogram prints. Florals, pineapples, polka dots, watermelons, bows! They are all free downloads that can be used for whatever you can dream up. Frame them and give as personalized birthday, baby shower, wedding, or teacher gifts.

Or do what we did, and slide them into the front of a plain white binder.

After downloading the prints, we simply highlighted the letters and replaced them with the letters we chose. Free personalization?! I'll take it.  These were so easy to make, we will probably change them out every few months.

I did sign up for their newsletter in order to download all the prints for free. Which to me- is no big deal. Free downloads and a free newsletter with Chicfetti ideas and printables?  Perfect- because I love monograms!! Plus their website is full of fun things to make with their free monograms.

Have your kids gone back to school yet? Did you personalize any of their school supplies?

Crafty How To: Monogram Pillow

The fun continues! Upcycling and reusing everything in sight :) Remember the 'coffee bag pillow' post?

Well that coffee bag had a back side and I had a piece of black felt. Anyone else thinking monogram???
So I found another throw pillow that was not being used and I decided it was in the need of a little help.  I printed out a big letter "C" in my favorite font- American Typewriter.

Then I pinned the "C" to the black felt and cut.

Next, I pinned the "C' to the burlap.

Right smack in the middle.

Then I sewed around the "C" in white thread using a tight zig-zag stitch.

Ta-da!  A super simple monogram pillow. It reminds me of one from Pottery Barn.

My burlap monogram pillow will live in my hubby's office. Which I am finally working on! But more about that later :)

Don't have a coffee bag to use, run up to JoAnn's and purchase some burlap. Or stay tuned, I will be giving away an awesome coffee bag soon!

Crafty How To: Bookpage Monogram

In the spirit of my "Monogram" board on Pinterest, I present to you the "Bookpage Monogram".
Super simple and gorgeous.

I loved the look of this project, but I needed something faster. It's summer after all, which means kiddos and fun around the clock.

So I tore a page out of a book that I will never read. You know one of those books that you use for decor purposes only. Then I got on my computer and typed a big "C" in American Typewriter font at 400 pt.  I added a centered text box below with the year of our wedding in the same font at 36 pt.

I put it into my printer and out it came. The perfect size 5 x7. Beautiful... black and white.

Frame it - love it. Done! All in about 10 minutes.

The perfect project for summer. This would make a great gift for weddings, anniversaries, or even new babies.

What projects are you squeezing in this summer? Between camps, pool time, and traveling it's hard to find time for crafting. Good thing there are 24 hours in a day :)

Monogram Love

This week's obsession on Pinterest... monograms. I love typography combined with a personal touch.

A single letter ...

What do you have monogrammed? Where would you put your letters?
