Back to School- Top Tips for Staying Organized

And boom! We are back in school. Gone are the lazy mornings in bed and evenings by the pool. We are up and "at em" early for volleyball and staying up late with homework, dance, and cheer. To keep it all together, we are doing our best to stay organized. For our family, a little prepping saves us time and our sanity. Want to know my favorite ways we "keep it all together"? I am sharing them all today- PLUS a fun $50 giveaway & free products for you!

1. Plan Ahead- Avoid last minute craziness by planning ahead the night before. Lay out clothes- what you are wearing for school (including shoes and socks- otherwise these always seem to go missing in the morning for some reason!). Homework, books, signed forms. Check and double check the night before.

Mornings aren't the only busy time of day! Set out after school gear- whether you kid has piano lessons or ballet- put all the needed uniforms, gear and bags out the night before too. This will save that hectic rush that happens after school.

2. Keep It Simple- Have you been looking at all those fun, crafty lunch ideas on Pinterest? Me too. Am I am making them? NO! Give yourself break. Pack a lunch your kid will actually eat. It doesn't have to be "instagram worthy" - if your child likes it, it's perfect. My girls love a sandwich, chips, fruit, a treat. Easy peasy. And this year,  lots of my kids' friends are making their own lunches. #goals

3. Stay Organized- My planner is like the diary of our family. Every activity, class, deadline and even my workouts are all written down. My husband and my kids know, if they want to see what is happening for the week, all they have to do is check out "Mom's Planner". I am old school with my paper and pencil calendar. But lots of my friends have gone digital and link their calendars to their husband's. Choose whatever works best for your family.

4. Love It? Label It!- Back to school means an investment in supplies, gear, and clothes. One of my biggest pet peeves is when my kid looses something at school or practice. This year, we spent time labeling everything- even down to the ballet shoes. Having all of our 'stuff' return home each day makes getting ready for the next morning easy and stress free.
