iPod Valentine Box & RV Valentine Box

It's that time of year again-- time for for Valentine's Boxes. My oldest has gone to middle school, so no more Valentine exchanges for her. But she still played along and got crafty while my second grader worked to make the 'perfect' box for her Valentine party. We looked around on Pinterest and then heated up the old glue gun and got started!

It was a cold, rainy day so we were all content to make a mess and a craft :)

Maisy decided she wanted her box to look like a giant iPod. (If I was really crafty, I would have found a way to make the box actually play music! Ha!)

Although the ear buds usually attach to the end of an iPod, Maisy wanted her's to be on the front. Which turned out cute with the heart stickers.

We found a mini-printable for it online and then I enlarged it and printed it. Then I traced over the words with a skinny Sharpie to make them more legible. If you wanted, you could make your own playlist, but I wasn't in the mood to re-invent the wheel.

Afton wanted to make a RV/Camper. She did this all by herself, I love how it turned out!

She is not actually using it to collect Valentines from classmates (because middle school), so she decorated the inside too. Although I am planning on tucking a Valentine in there for her - as a surprise.

Since February 14th falls on a Wednesday this year, my husband and I are going out to dinner the Saturday before. But we will celebrate with the girls at home on the actual day. Maisy has a school party and I am putting together a "treat bar" for the middle school teachers on Valentines Day too. We will probably make some heart shaped food for dinner with our girls:) What do you do to celebrate Valentine's Day at your house?

PS- Did you make your 'love note' hearts for your family this year? If not- you can still do it! Add a heart with a love to note to their door each day until Valentine's. See this post from last year for details.
