Horizontal Striped Curtains (Drapes)

I love stripes. Stripes on pillows, stripes on rugs, stripes on chairs. There is just something so satisfying about those lines. Classic, clean and always in style.

A few years back, I fell in love with the Nester's horizontal striped curtains. She made hers with some fabulous fabric that she found on clearance. Such a great find! I just knew that a "Black and White" version was exactly what my husband's home office needed. At that time, I couldn't find anything similar in my favorite stores or even any fabric that would work.

So I knew what I had to do. I decided to make my own fabric with "Black and White" horizontal stripes.  I found panels at Ikea and then measured, taped and painted. It was in the good old days of nap times. My girls were very little and once they went to sleep,  I got busy!

The result was pretty good if I do say so myself. (See the original post about how I did HERE)

And this morning, as I was browsing Pinterest, what do I find? Beautiful, horizontal striped curtain panels-- from Pottery Barn! No 'diy' required. My heart almost skipped a beat when I saw these. Three color choices!  Navy, beige, and porcelain blue.

What?! No black? I guess this navy is pretty darn close:)

So if you've been wanting some more horizontal stripes in your life, there you go! Seems like if you are patient enough, retail always catches up with diy.

What do you think? Do you like the bold like the bold look of horizontal stripes?
