Halloween Crafts for Kids

Earlier this month, I spent some time creating fall decor for our house. You remember, the pumpkin topiaries, burlap wreaths and printable art.

But a few days ago, Afton said she was ready to make a few decorations of her own. We found this book at the library and immediately she compiled a list of 'crafts to make'.

Luckily, it was a gloomy Sunday- so we had plenty of time to get creative.
First up- the silly spiders. We had the pipe cleaner legs, googly eyes, and paint already. A quick trip to Hobby Lobby later, we had the foam balls too.

Next, she wanted to paint the pumpkin she picked out at the farm. Afton is all-about witches right now. So that was her 'inspiration'.  She used the party hat template from Maisy's party to make a hat and then stuck on letters from my scrapbook stash.

We decided that the dresser in the entry would be the perfect place to display her creations. So I cleared off the top and added a framed printable that I found here. Details about the Haunted House will be coming soon :)

We have also been reading a ton of Halloween books from our library. Afton and Maisy's favorite book so far are "The Hallowiener", "The Ugly Pumpkin", and "The Halloween Queen".
