To get things started we partnered with our Principal to throw a "Meet the Teacher" party. Families came up to school a few days before school started and we had a little party. Menchies in Colleyville brought fro-yo, we set up membership tables, and a photo booth. After parents visited PTA in the cafeteria, they moved into the school and visited their new classrooms and teachers.
For our PTA we chose the theme "We Stick Together" with a cute cactus to represent that in our PTA all are welcome and all work together to make our school great. The yellow shirts we are wearing have the cactus design on the front and back. They are bright and when we wear them, we stand out! Our PTA is visible at our school!
The next day, our Hospitality team hosted a lunch for our teachers. The luncheon was coordinated with the "HES Soars" theme chosen by our principal. She wants all the kids to 'not just fly, soar!' this year. I love that quote. Our cute Hospitality moms made these adorable hot air balloons for table decor.
We are fortunate to have the support of a local business, Hashem Orthodontics, who donated water bottles for all the teachers. The water bottles are symbolic because last year, our PTA raised funds to purchase water filling stations. The water bottles donated by Dr. Hashem can be filled by our PTA water bottle filling stations! I ordered custom vinyl stickers with our PTA logo on them.
Starting school can be stressful for both parents and teachers. I hope that our family event and our teacher luncheon made that start a little easier this year. What are you favorite "PTA Kick Off"ideas?
