So this is super simple. Buy a box of pre-made patriotic cakes... and cut them into 'petit fors'. Then thread them onto the kabobs skewers along with strawberries and marshmallows.
We had fun figuring out what pattern would look best - and more importantly- taste best!
This dessert was like that kids' book "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie". Because once we made dessert, we realized we need some lunch to go with it...
So the girls decided to make some 'festive' sandwiches to go with them! If you want to make any sandwich more interesting, make it with a shaped cookie cutter. I have been doing these since the girls were tiny... and years later, they still love a cookie cutter sandwich.
To take our sandwiches to 'the next level' we covered them in sprinkles. (If colored sugar on a PBJ sandwich offends you, quick! look away!!)
The girls were happy with their Fourth of July themed lunch. And the best part was that they made it themselves. It's like a craft that you can eat.
