Preparing for Thanksgiving

We have been doing our best to prepare for Thanksgiving.

The turkeys have been made. (These are doily turkeys we did with our preschool class. The dots on the doilies are made from their little finger prints. The details are here. )

My girls and I have gotten in the 'cooking mood'. (We spent all day Sunday making our famous chicken noodle soup with homemade noodles. The recipe is here.)

We went to a Friendsgiving party. (My friend Kristin made this Turkey Veggie Tray- I love it! See more details here. )

And I have pinned a ton of Thanksgiving crafts/ideas. (Like this Hershey Kiss turkey that one of the teachers at my preschool made. You can see more here.)

But the one thing that is more important than all of these cute Thanksgiving activities, is the simple act of being thankful. This week, I am challenging myself and my girls to tell people thank you, you are appreciated, I am grateful for you. I want to focus on saying the words out loud. (There is a great article about Jesus, the lepers, and being thankful. Very inspiring! See it here.)

We will be spending Thanksgiving at my mother-in-laws house with lots of cousins, family and food. Everyone brings something-- I think I am going to do a few desserts. What do you have planned this week? Who/what are you grateful for? How will you show it?
