My Design is in a Catalog! {Plus a Sample Sale}

If you have been following along, then you know that last season was my first for apparel. Since my first daughter was born I have always made hair accessories. Last year I began selling them on Etsy and wholesale through a showroom at the Dallas Market. And then in August of 2012, I debuted my girls apparel line under the same name, "Samantha Conner Designs".

The world of girls apparel is super competitive and then throw in the fact that I don't have much experience, or a company or actual employees (it's just me!)-- well it has been challenging to say the least. But despite all that, one of my outfits was picked up by the well-known children's catalog "CWDKIDS". You can imagine my excitement when the Spring 2013 catalog arrived- with my outfit in it!!

I wanted to cry. Really, who would have thought that my first season out, I would see one of my designs in a catalog.

**SAMPLE SALE**
To celebrate the first catalog appearance of "Samantha Conner Designs", I am hosting an online sample sale. Select outfits from my Spring/Summer 2013 collection will be available to you at reduced or wholesale pricing. (You won't find these low prices anywhere else)  Whoohoo!

Here is a peek at some of the items offered. Quantities are limited- so if you like something, snatch it up. The prices are low, the quality is high and it is all made here in Dallas, TX. More styles are available in my Etsy shop and I wil continue adding them. So check over there for more "SCD goodness".

So where am I on my journey now? Well my Fall/Winter 2013 collection is being sold in Dallas and Jackson markets this month. From there, it will be available in select boutiques and I am hoping to also offer it to you on my website- in sizes 2t-10.

When people ask, "So how are the clothes going?". I tell them honestly-- it is hard work. Starting your own company (with no business background) is HARD. But the creative, design part is SO amazing. I feel so energized when I create.

Right now, my current dilemma is over offering future designs exclusively through my website and in home shows vs. wholesale at market. The world of wholesale, sales reps, boutiques is tricky. I can offer my clothing at a better price to customers when I sell it myself, but I am not sure I will get enough traffic to my online shop. There are positives and negatives to both ways of selling. I just need to see what works best for me.

Thank you for your support. As always, please email me with any questions. I am composing a post right now with answers to the questions that I have received so far. Don't be afraid to add yours to the list as well--I am happy to help!

Too funny...I had never heard of CWD Kids before. And then a day or two before this post I was at my mother-in-laws and she gave me the catalog to look through. I had seen the outfit and thought it was cute, but hadn't realized it was yours!

So exciting!!
