Craft It: Chevron Advent Calendar {A Free Printable}

You know that I have been holding off on Christmas for as long as possible. But since Thanksgiving is tomorrow,  it is time to start the Christmas season. Christmas is the 'most wonderful time of the year' and I can't wait any longer for it to begin. So with that said, here is my first creation for the holiday season. A super cute- and easy- printable advent calendar. And of course, it's chevron :)

I love counting down to Christmas with my girls. The anticipation for Christmas Day to arrive is part of the magic of the holiday. But there is SO much celebrating and gifting. SO much--that sometimes it just feels like TOO much. Don't get me wrong, I love lots of decorating, baking and crafting during the holidays. But the nightly Elf antics and crazy attempts to provide amazing small gifts and/or holiday experiences for the 24 days before Christmas ever arrives can get any sane person feeling a little crazy.

So this year I am ready to keep things a little more manageable. Focus more on family and the spirit of the holiday and less on "elves" and "advent gifts". Instead of making each day crazy-over-the-top 'Pinterest-special'. I am going to try and save most of that 'energy' for the big day. For starters, I am keeping our advent calendar "stress-free".

This cute advent calendar is perfect for counting down the days til Christmas. To make one for your family, simply drag the one of the documents below to your desktop and print. Or click on the link and download it for free.

Then put the document in your favorite 8x10 frame. Each day, color an 'ornament' with a dry erase marker. I personally like to use blue. (If you made the "I Am Thankful" frame with me last month, you can just pop that one out and replace it with this one!)

As Christmas gets closer, the tree becomes 'more decorated'. And there is no stress for you! No little gifts or trinkets to buy, no 'Christmas bucket list' that you have to race to complete.

Just color a ball on the Chevron Advent Calendar and enjoy your family. Because that is really all anyone wants for the holiday season anyway :)

I originally shared this project over at Tatertots and Jello as part of Jen's Happy Holidays series. Pop on over to TT&J to see the other projects featured in the series.
