I apologize in advance for the iphone pics. But I chose to shower and do my hair instead of set-up a pretty photo with my real camera. I know you understand ;)
So this year, we changed the recipe a bit. Simply take Fudge Stripe Cookies and add a Hershey Kiss Bell to the top. Use icing to attach the top of the hat to the brim. You can pipe icing on in the shape of a buckle. Or use a yellow m&m for the hat detail. (You could even skip that part if piping stresses you out, they look cute even without the band/buckle!)
I printed out Thanksgiving 'party circles' and cut them use a 2inch circle punch. I put the Pilgrim Hat Cookies in a gold cupcake liner then wrapped the entire thing in plastic wrap and tied it with a bow. This made them look cute and travel easily to school.
The Thanksgiving 'party circles' are from Three Little Monkeys Studio- you can download them for free!
You can see our past Pilgrim Hat Cookies here. I made those with a Reeses Peanut Butter Cup. I loved that recipe, but it wasn't 'school friendly' due to the peanut butter. These are easy enough for the kiddos to make themselves. You could have the supplies ready and the little ones could make them while they wait for Thanksgiving dinner to cook :)
Look how little Afton is in this picture! Love our Thanksgiving tradition :) |
