BEFORE: Very attractive- but she had her heart set on tailored leather couches, neutrals, and more texture.
Like most newlyweds, they started out with a lot of hand-me-down furniture. Which is actually a blessing is disguise- that free furniture gives you some time to figure out your own style before you commit to spending a lot of money.
AFTER: The wait paid off, she got her new couch!
She fell in love with the dark brown leather and nail head accents.
She replaced the blue bench with a coffee table found in a consignment store. I really like the storage baskets under the "new" coffee table.
She has gotten quite good with her sewing machine. The red pillows were recovered with fabric ordered from Ballard.
This chair was given to her by her mother-in-law. Amanda had the black leather recovered with this beautiful print.
The blue bench that previously served as her coffee table was painted and moved in front the window.
And she made an adorable tea-cup candle using a tea cup we found at the antique mall.

She created her own topiary using this cone and some greenery from Hobby Lobby. I like the contrast of the pale shells mixed with the pine cone.
Finally she found some vintage cards, matted them with burlap and displayed them in these silvery frames. Oh how I love burlap!
Looking again. So many pretty details, such thoughtful changes.

You crafty and creative creatures! I just love how you and Amanda transform your surroundings-the two of you have inspired me!
ReplyDeleteI love it. Where did the leather couch come from? I have been on the hunt to replace mine.
