Donut Themed PTA Event

To kick off the beginning of the school year, PTA does a big membership drive. The goal of PTA is to get families involved at school and advocate for children's education. To do this, local PTA's encourage parents and families to become members. Then PTA shares ways they can get 'plugged in' on their child's campus. To make this whole membership thing more fun-- we set up a 'meet and greet' at our school's "Meet the Teacher" event. We had a donut table and photo booth with the idea of "I DONUT about you, but I am joining PTA!". Food puns make everything better right???

My friend Jennifer S. used her Cricut to make all these adorable donuts. We worked together to turn them into garland and a photo booth back drop.

We made the balloon garland with a few packages of balloons from Dollar Tree. We got a bunch of kids to help us blow them up. I love child labor :) Then we tied the twin around each balloon and then tied those to a long string of twine, alternating the placement of the balloons. We taped it all to the wall.

The kids and parents loved the decorations and the donuts. Plus we had a great turn out with membership drive. Our goal is to really build a strong community of parents at our school. I think the donuts helped with that goal! :)

Are you involved with your school's PTA?
