80s DIY Costume & Photo Props
Her tutu skirt is from Party City. The shirt I found in the men's department at Walmart and cut it. The jewelry and gloves are from Walmart too! (Because who wants to spend a lot of money on a costume?!) The leg warmers are from my youngest daughter's dance accessories and the converse are mine. (Shop your own closet!)
For the party, I made the photo props using my Cricut. Some are templates. Others, I just cut out the letters to make the words and then attached them to card stock. I dropped these off at the dance prior to the event -- I didn't think she would want me to volunteer at the actual dance :)
Before the dance, she invited a few friends over. I made them 80s snacks- including homemade Rice Krispie treats. I forgot how good those taste!! (Click here for the recipe).
When I picked up the girls, they were all sweaty and chatty. I think they danced a lot!
