Christmas Cards

In a world of emails, text messages and evites- there is nothing sweeter than a Christmas card. A real Christmas card printed on paper, tucked in an envelope, individually stamped, and hand-delivered to your mail box. I look forward to them every year. Photos of families, dogs, kids. Smiles, care, and love wrapped up in a card.

There is something so personal about these Christmas greetings. Maybe it's becuase someone took the time to dress up their kids, or gather photos, or make an online order--- all just to wish me a "Merry Christmas". And because of the way I feel about Christmas cards, I like to have them out on display all month long. Each year I use some ribbon, tape and clothespins to hang them on our kitchen doors. More ribbon strips can be added if we fill these up.

If you don't have kitchen doors, you could use the same method to attach them to your pantry doors or kitchen cabinets. Any ribbon will work- coordinate it with your Christmas decor.

Here are few other display ideas that caught my eye on pinterest.

This year we ordered our Photo Christmas Cards from Mixbook.  I had never heard of them, but they had a great website and I had a fantastic Groupon. I used photos that Erin of Splendor Photography took of our family this summer when we were in Destin. The site was easy to use-- you can customize all the templates. Simple formatting- just drop and click.

Since this was the first time I had used Mixbook and I had not heard much about them, I was anxious to see how the card would actually turn out. And I honestly have to say, I could not be happier. The paper is a great weight, the colors are spot-on, and it arrived just as quickly as they promised. I was so pleased with the results, I emailed Mixbook and told them I would be sharing it on my blog. And this is where is gets good-- they sent me a gift code for you to use.

So if you haven't started on your cards, you want to make New Year's or Valentines cards, or you just want to give Mixbook a try, here's your chance.
