Preparing for Easter

It has turned right from winter to spring around here. This week begins the final few days before Easter. We are preparing with egg decorating, treats and church.

We went to the Egg Hunt at our church on Saturday. My oldest is officially 'too old' to hunt for eggs so she volunteered to help with the games. It is surreal to see these transitions from little to big. It makes me happy and sad.

A few weeks back, she completed Confirmation and I was blessed to have been her group leader. I don't consider myself any kind of authority on the Bible or matters of faith. All I know is that -no matter what you do, Jesus will never stop loving you. I did my best to share that with the girls in Afton's group.

At the Confirmation service, the group leaders were asked to write a note to each member of the group. The letters would be tucked into the bibles that were presented at the service. Once again, my expertise on 'the right biblical words' was limited. So I did what I do know.

I crafted.

I made each girl a hand-drawn bible verse. I colored each one. All 12 were different. I loved making them. And I hope the girls found them meaningful.

There are so many people, with so many different talents, areas of expertise, levels of knowledge. I find comfort in the idea that I can only be me.

What you believe matters. Happy Easter my friends.
