Crafty How-To: Chevron Fall Wreath

The Chevron Fall Wreath
Chevron and Burlap?!
Yes it is true- my two favorites joined together to create one fabulous wreath. I think it might be my favorite fall decoration!

Make Your Own
Want to make one too? Here is what you need:
-About 1 yard of burlap
-.5 yards of chevron fabric
-Hot glue
-18 inch straw wreath (no need to even remove the plastic wrap!)
-Decorative button for the flower's center

Get Wrapping
-I started by covering a straw wreath with orange burlap. I used strips of burlap approximately 3 inches wide. I pulled them tight around the wreath and secured them with hot glue.

 Glue a Yo-Yo
-Then I used yellow chevron fabric (found on fabric.com) to make a flower. It is modified yo-yo flower, basically I folded a 3 inch strip of fabric in half and then pinched it together in folds. It is secured in the middle with hot glue and finished off with a bit of natural-colored burlap and a black glitter button.

Finish with a Bow
Finally I topped it all off with a big chevron bow on top!

I almost hate to hang it outside--but I really love the contrast of the orange, yellow and white against the black door.

Happy Fall Ya'll!
